Course Description:
This year in Telecommunications and Networking students develop
knowledge of the concepts and skills related to telecommunications and data
networking technologies and practices in order to apply them to personal or
career development. To prepare for success, students will have opportunities to
reinforce, apply, and transfer knowledge and skills to a variety of settings
and problems.

- Exploring Careers
- Identifying Employment Opportunities
- Ethics and Integrity In the Workplace
- Analyze Client Project Needs
- Interpret Technical Drawings
- Estimate Costs
- Theory of Electronics and Electricity
- TCP/IP fundamentals
- Public/Private Networks
- Network Security
- Network Operating Systems
- Quality Assurance Processes
Supplies:
headphones/earbuds, a section in a 3 ring notebook, pen or pencil, and paper.
Grades:
Weights and classifications for each six weeks
- Quizzes, homework and daily grades 60%
- Tests and major projects 40%
Late work will be accepted up to 3 days after the assigned
due date with a penalty of 10 points per day deducted.
Rules:
Arrive to class on time.
No food or drinks will be allowed in the computer lab.
Follow all directions quickly.
Raise your hand for permission to speak.
Procedures:
Be seated before the bell rings.
Begin the bell ringer activity written on the board/website
and work quietly until directed.
Complete all work in a timely manner.
If you finish your assignment before the period is over work
on the research project or bonus work given.
Before leaving save all work.
Complete the exit ticket activity.
Make sure all trash is removed and your chair is pushed in
when dismissed.
Rewards:
Students that follow all the rules and procedures will earn
free time to play educational games and points to buy rewards.
